| This paper will introduce a new digital photofinishing system that applies digital light processing(DLP) technology in the conventional silver halide imaging chain. Traditional photofinishing has been enhanced by deliver new products to the consumer and by delivering existing services and products at higher quality and less cost. DLP is based on a micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) device known as the digital micro-mirror device (DMD). Invented in 1987 at Texas Instruments, the DMD is a fast, reflective digital light switch. |
